ABOUT US

We started STB to entertain, specifically, to bring a little more diversity to the world of media. To bring the world a picture of people of color that's often overlooked. It was an attempt to bring fairness, and truth in a way that wasn't a surmon or made you feel that you were being beat over the head with words.

It started with Swap the Beat magazine, a short lived webzine on black entertainment, and was re-ignited with a webcomic, the Single Dad Diaries. The comic featured a single black father, taking on childcare and tough topics like single parenting and racism, and all the while giving a quick laugh to start the day. The comic has had mild success, reaching nearly 3000 fans on Facebook and other social media, so STB took other projects over the years to help make ends meet. Enough projects that it was decided to split the tasks into creative and business. Both with the same mission - to serve the under-served.
